How to Make Gluten Free Cheesy Crackers
- In a large mixing bowl, blend the shredded cheese, gluten free flour, salt, garlic powder, and butter with a fork or pastry blender. Then, add 1 Tbsp. of water at a time, until a dough is formed. Split the dough into two pieces. Next, wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Remove the dough from the fridge and allow to sit at room temp for a few minutes. Then, use a rolling pin to roll the dough between two sheets of parchment paper. You want to create a thin, rectangular shape. Use a pizza cutter or a knife to cut into squares. Next, create a small hole in the center of each square.
- Place squares of dough on a parchment lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt. Finally, bake for 14-16 minutes.
What is aged cheddar?
On average, cheddar cheese is aged for 12-18 months. Mild cheddar is aged for only about 2-3 months. The longer the cheese has aged, the sharper the flavor.
Storage
Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week. The dough can be refrigerated before baking up to 2 days. Dough can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
