For an easy and fun snack or brunch, these gluten free cheddar waffles with sausage gravy are sure to be a hit! Crispy, soft, salty, creamy, cheesy, absolute heaven!
First of all, the photos may not do this savory snack justice! These cheddar waffles with sausage gravy are SO good! Like, I could barely stop eating them long enough to take a few pictures!
Ummm…. Yummmm…… Just, yes!
Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. These easy, homemade waffles simply feature cheddar cheese. And then, that sausage gravy really takes it to the next level!
They are perfect for an afternoon snack, brunch, or even dinner. Waffles may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about a savory snack, but maybe they should be!
Oh, and they can be ready in 25 minutes! Even kids will love this super yummy snack!
Because I prefer smaller pieces, I poured about 1/2 cup of batter in the center of the waffle iron. You could also make full-size waffles and cut into strips or leave them as full size waffles, top with sausage gravy, and enjoy!
Now, my sausage gravy is pretty thick! As in, you can see lots of sausage and bell peppers running throughout. If you’d prefer more sauce- you could double all of the ingredients for the sausage gravy, except for the sausage and diced peppers. You could even leave the peppers out, but I like getting at least a little veg in there. Then, dip or spoon the gravy over the waffles.
You’re welcome.

Absolutely! I often use almond or oat milk. You can also use vegan butter instead of real butter.

- If it says nonstick, still spray liberally with nonstick cooking spray.
