Stromboli vs. Calzones
Stromboli and calzones are both made from a baked dough. Inside, they are stuffed with meats, veggies, herbs, and cheese. Calzones date back to Italy in the 18th century. Naples served these pizzas, folded in half, as a “walking pizza.” Stromboli was invented in the 1950s in Philadelphia. It’s often rolled into a log shape and meant to feed a few people.
