Oreo has finally created a gluten free version!!!!!!!!
YUM-MY!!!! Now, where’s the gluten free cookies and cream ice cream??? Anyone, anyone.
You may not know this, but ice cream is my favorite food…like in the entire world! If there’s some sort of death row or apocalypse situation, I will be eating ALL of the ice cream.
But then, I became an adult and decided life would be a lot more fun if I gave up most dairy products. Adulthood is super cool! So, now I indulge only a few times each year. Torture.
But once I found gluten free Oreos, I started to crave cookies and cream. For REAL. Honestly, I have never found a gluten free version of my favorite cool treat. It’s probably not impossible to find, but a lot of products that are dairy free are not also gluten free and vice versa. So, I decided to make my own!
This recipe is so simple! Since cooking involves heating food, this is literally the opposite. Just pour, whisk/blend, and freeze- that’s it! Oh, and you only need 4 ingredients. Plus, an ice cream maker will make the process run a lot smoother, but just a freezer will do.
Let’s go, summer. We’re ready!

Thanks, Karen. Yes. I used a mix of coconut milk and oat milk half-and-half and creamer. So, it’s not pure white- but, don’t worry! It’s still creamy and delicious!

Just kidding! That’s what I had in my fridge. I would stick with creamier non-dairy varieties. Almond milk has less fat, so it would not be my first choice. You can also use full-fat canned coconut milk.

Gluten & Dairy Free Cookies and Cream Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 3 c. dairy free half & half (I use an oat and coconut milk blend)
- 2 c. non dairy creamer (I used vanilla oat milk)
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 10 gluten free Oreos, crushed
Instructions
- In a blender, process the half & half, creamer, and brown sugar until smooth and brown sugar is dissolved. Pour into an ice cream maker. Add crushed cookies during the last few minutes. Eat right away (very soft serve) or store in the freezer.
