It has been years since I have eaten a true biscuit. I didn’t grown up in the South, but it’s a universal fact that everyone loves buttery, flaky biscuits. My grandmother made the best creamed chipped beef, but as summer is quickly approaching, I fear the buttery biscuit or toast and creamy beef gravy will go straight to my hips.
But, it’s the WEEKEND…and that calls for a slightly decadent brunch. 🙂
These simple biscuits take less than 15 minutes to bake and no rising time! Plus, I added some oat and whole wheat flour. Still buttery and delicious, but without all of the white flour. And, a little sausage gravy never killed anyone…that I know of. Hey, lunch can be a large salad.
Don’t worry, one serving is enough to satisfy your craving. Invite a few friends over so you aren’t tempted by leftovers!
Enjoy your Saturday!
