For the perfect fall cocktail, this apple cider sangria features warm, fresh flavors and is super simple to make!
Nothing screams fall quite like the sweet taste of apple cider. So, let’s make an apple-cider inspired cocktail!
Fruity, but not too sweet. With just a hint of warm cinnamon. By using a dry wine paired with the sweet cider, this cocktail feels nicely balanced.
Now, I often think of sangria as a summertime treat, but wine is happily enjoyed year-round!
Originating in Spain and Portugal, sangria is basically an adult punch, with a base of wine. Fruit is then added and it’s best when the flavors have had time to sit around for a few hours before serving. Some recipes also call for additional liquor to be added. Today we’re sticking with rosé, apple cider, ginger-ale, apple, cinnamon sticks, and a few orange slices.
You will need to plan ahead, but this sangria takes just 5 minutes to prepare! Then, simply store in the fridge until your guests arrive. The perfect cocktail for your next fall gathering!
Next time, I’ll be adding some peanut butter whiskey! Cheers!
Ingredients in Apple Cider Sangria

Ginger Sparkling Water, Ginger-Ale, or Ginger Beer
Apple Slices
Orange Slices
Optional: cinnamon sticks
How long will sangria last??
This sangria will last in the fridge for 2-3 days, but if it lasts longer than one evening…you’re not doing it right! If the fruit is removed, then the sangria will last for up to one week in the fridge.
Could I use apple juice??
While apple cider and apple juice are not exactly the same, either could work in this cocktail. Apple cider would be my number one preference, but in a pinch either will work. I’d probably still refer to it as apple cider sangria- apple juice sangria just doesn’t have quite the same ring!
What’s the difference between apple cider and apple juice?
The biggest difference between the two is filtration. Apple juice has been filtered and often pasteurized. Some companies will also add sugar. Apple cider is less processed and usually only found in the fall. Apple juice, on the other hand, can easily be found and enjoyed year-round!
