Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Cook Time 8 minutes mins
Total Time 20 minutes mins
- 1 1/2 lbs. ground turkey
- 1 Tbsp. coconut aminos
- 1/4 - 1/3 small onion
- Salt and pepper
- 4 slices of cheese
- 4 gluten free buns
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1 c. lettuce, shredded
- 3 - 4 oz. potato chips
In a large mixing bowl, add the ground turkey, coconut aminos, salt, and pepper. Then, grate about 1/4 – 1/3 of one small onion directly over the meat. Mix with clean hands.
Next, split into 4 evenly-sized portions. Form into patties with an indentation in the center. This will help to ensure the burgers don’t puff up and remain flatter with a more uniform thickness.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the burgers and allow to cook for 3-5 minutes. Then, flip and allow them to cook for another 3-4 minutes. Top with the slices of cheese and allow to melt. Burgers can also be cooked on the grill.
Top burgers with tomato slices, lettuce, and a handful of potato chips. You can also toast the buns.
